DROP DEAD ED
A softer relationship with yourself starts here.
You don't have to spend your life at war with your own mind.
WHAT IS DROP DEAD ED (DDE)?
Drop Dead ED began with my own experience of learning to live with a mind that often felt like it was working against me.
For me, that struggle was an eating disorder (ED).
For years, I lived with an inner voice that was critical, relentless, and rarely kind. I spent so much time trying to change how I looked, how I felt, and who I was, without ever stopping to understand why I felt that way in the first place.
What I've come to understand, both personally and professionally, is that so many of our behaviours begin as ways of coping. Things we learn to do to feel safe, accepted, or in control. And while those patterns may have once served a purpose, they don't always serve the lives we want to live today. And that's where the name Drop Dead ED came from. A little humour, a little defiance, and a long-overdue desire to tell that relentless inner critic to F OFF.
But over time, I've come to realize that healing isn't always about fighting that voice. Sometimes, it's about understanding where it came from and learning that we don't have to believe everything it tells us.
Today, Drop Dead ED has grown beyond eating disorder recovery. It's about recognizing the patterns that keep us stuck, understanding where they came from, and slowly building a different relationship with ourselves.
Not becoming someone else. Just finding our way back to ourselves.
you stumbled here for a reason
You don't need a "severe rock bottom" to deserve a better life. Often, it’s not one big crash, but the slow, quiet weight of the inner critic that wears us down. We only have one life, and you don't have to spend it waiting for things to get "bad enough" before you reach out.
